Textile Art

I am very very lucky to own a piece by well known textile artist Sue Dennis.
I love anthills, and her anthill themed quilts really speak to me.  Here is the one in my collection
It's called Anthill Country #5.  It shimmers like the haze in central Australia, and the layering echoes the seen and unseen part of anthills (they are amazing labyrinths of structure and organisation).  The Aboriginal print in the binding gives context to the piece.  Love it...

  1. This is another beautiful quilt by Sue - and always evokes for me Mount Isa, Mornington Island and all the red and ochre earth stretching between them. The anthills series always takes me back ...
