If you have a blog or web page you may be interested in testing the readability level of the content.

I had a bit of fun testing this blog.  The Gunning Fog Index came in at 13.18 (that is, you need that many years of schooling to be able to understand what I have written).  The Wall Street Journal scores an 11, and The Times, The Guardian score 14.

  1. Interesting....I tried mine and I don't know if this is good or not so. Mine came in at 7.85.

According to the way things work out, the lower the number the more understandable the content will be to your readers. That's good, right? I do write purely for pleasure after all, and often long periods of time transpire between posts.

I guess I'm likly to be attracting high school kids, whereas you, Kate, are pulling in Uni students and beyond. :-)
