I'd not seen this movie, but it's a classic, so decided it was time to get it under my belt. I enjoyed it a lot. I liked how the tension built, and I liked how various characters were being motivated by different agendas leading to some unexpected consequences.
More sleuthing by Sherlock and Dr Watson (Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce). I do love the black and white ambience, and Rathbone's delivery reflects his Shakespearean credentials. Very enjoyable.
Do we have a "Plan" for our lives, organised by a "Chairman" and his trilby-hatted staff? Does Love (or persistence) conquer all? These questions are posed and some of them answered by the movie. It's well made, funny in parts, and well acted. Worth watching.
