I saw a blog post about using aluminium cans...so I had to try it straight away! The idea is to heat the inside of the can to get an interesting colour - sort of rainbow-y/gold-y

The first one got too hot and oxidised.  I found it was better to keep the metal further from the flame - but it takes longer. You can cut the aluminium very easily - and you can sew through it with no problems!
