Clothes Line

The clothes line was smack bang in the centre of the only lawn area I have, plus I have a huge aversion to them anyway, so out it had to come.  Much digging and levering resulted in an enormous hole

because of the chunk of concrete anchoring the thing

Hydrangea

I rescued this hydrangea from Woolies a few months ago.  I picked a good spot for it shade-wise, but it's been touch and go because the soil isn't that great.  Still, it looks like it's going to make it - yay!!

I really really love rain - I don't know that I have ever gotten sick of it - not so far in my life.
It brightens the colours in the garden, softens the view, makes it all OK to kind of slow down and enjoy pottering....

Almost the length of the house is this undercover area - very cool and shaded and perfect for parties. Beyond it is the pool which has a deck and loungers - you can sit here and see heaps of bird life and the occasional koala....

New Grevilleas

I bought two new grevilleas at the market this morning - one is Moonlight

the other is Caloundra Gem.

Blossom

This is exciting! The first flower on any of the murrayas which I planted more than a year ago. The plant is also called mock orange, and the scent of the flowers is just amazing...sweet and heady...so I am looking forward to many more blossoms!!
