What Kate Will Do Next

Dear Reader

Just over 3 years ago I discovered the wonderful world of blogging - as a reader.  Then on 20 April 2009 I hit "publish" on my first post.  My aim was to stay positive, to honour my life by being thankful for what I have and do, and to record sights and experiences that often evanesce as time marches on.
I have learned to see things around me better and to notice more, and for that alone I am grateful.
That anyone reads the blog is always a surprise but a huge pleasure as well.   Thank you for being "out there" - it's been wonderful to have someone to write to, to talk to, to communicate with. 

Three years has been a good run for me - I've never been able to manage to keep a diary going for more than about a month in any given year - and I will now be moving to something a bit different.

In about a month I will stop posts on this blog.  My intention is that it will stay available, I just won't be adding to it.

What I WILL be adding to is a new one to do with my travels.  It will be private, rather than public like this one, but I'm happy to send the link to anyone who is interested in reading it.

Thank you for your support and comments over the years, and I hope our paths continue to cross, if not here, then in other arenas of life.

Bloggy GTG

Nothing beats turning up to a GTG and knowing no-one, but feeling like you've known everyone for ages.  I hope I remember everyone - here we all are before I had to leave.

Blogging Workshop - Part 2

So, what happened at the blogging workshop?  We all had our laptops, notebooks, pens, paper etc and Nova had put together a structured presentation covering just about everything you could imagine.  Her husband Andy helped out from a technical point of view as well.

We talked and asked questions and I think everyone learned heaps.  Don't we look studious!

Blogging Lull

A quick hello to all of you still out there.  I've had some issues with getting photos off my phone and didn't want to post without something interesting to look at.  As we speak, I'm waiting for someone from the HTC support desk to ring me back...is this like when a boy says "I'll ring you"?  Am I foolish to be waiting by the phone? LOL

New Blog

Jane is a fellow Broadstroker and has started a new blog.  She's busy, but gets heaps done.  Her quilting skills are wonderful - so I hope there'll be lots of yummy images, just like the one for her first post.

Blogging brings you into contact with the most wonderful people.  First, Jasmine whose post today was one of those answer/question type things.  She picked this up from Lisette's blog, Textile Seahorse.  So of course I had to wander over there and have a gander.  Now I've *got* to have Textile Seahorse blog in my Google Reader.  Done.  But wait!  Lisette and friends have an eating project underway - how can I resist visiting restaurants vicariously (not quite as good as doing it in person, but still...).  So  *that* is now added to good old Reader.

But there's still more!  Jas has this nifty phases of the moon thingy on her blog and I decided I *had* to have that too - so you'll see it's a new addition down the side of my blog.

Phew - and it's only 7 in the morning!!  I think I'll go and make a cuppa...

Blogs

For those who may not know, I start my day reading blogs. I use Google Reader which does the job of presenting me with what's new on the blogs I like to follow. Google Reader also allows me to categorize the blogs, so I can decide whether I want to start with "ideas" or "books" or whatever my little heart may fancy...

I need to do this because at the moment I subscribe to 325 blogs...

One posting I read this morning led me to discover this new gem: teal - The Typo Eradication Advancement League. Seriously - these guys go around correcting typos!! How WONDERFUL is that!! And then they blog about it (at length...). It's so nice to know I'm not the only pedant in the world :-)
